CLAT Syllabus 2023
CLAT 2023 exam is divided into 5 sections, i.e. English Language, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, including General Knowledge and Quantitative Techniques. Therefore CLAT syllabus is also provided according to the sections in the exam.
Section I- English Language
This section intends to check the comprehension abilities and the candidate’s command of the English language. The candidates must focus on:
- Comprehension and Language Skills
- Making inferences and conclusions.
- Summarisation
- Identification of varied arguments and perspectives.
- Meaning-making.
Section II- General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This section intends to check candidates’ general knowledge of the following themes:
- Important and recent events (Indian and Global)
- Arts and Culture
- International affairs
- Historical happenings which are still relevant and significant.
Section III- Legal Reasoning
The candidates will be checked for their legal aptitude through this section. The focus areas of the legal reasoning section are:
- General knowledge about current legal and moral issues.
- Identification and inferring of rules and principles given in the passages.
- Understanding the impact of changing rules and principles on various fact situations.
- Application of rules and principles to real-life situations.

Section IV- Logical Reasoning
