What are the updates in the Intune SCCM Certification Learning exams?
As of 2021, Microsoft’s learning approach has shifted away from product-based examinations such as ConfigMgr, Intune and AVD toward role-based exams such as architect, desktop admin and help desk admin. Some of the changes made to these Microsoft certifications and training courses are:
Validity and expiry-related changes
- Microsoft role-based and specialized certifications previously had a two-year expiration date. To be recertified, you must repeat the exam(s). As per the changes, certifications will be valid for one year starting in June 2021, and they may be renew online for free.
- Six months before the certificate’s expiration date, the renewal window opens. You can take a free online assessment before the certificate expires.
- Microsoft certifications obtained before June 20, 2021, are valid for two years and eligible for the new renewal process.
- Regardless of when you renew your certification during the six-month renewal window, the certificate’s validity will be extended by one year from its initial expiration date.
Course structure-related changes
- The Microsoft 70-243 Exam was discontinued on July 31, 2017.
- Earlier SCCM had only one-course exam available – 70-696 exam.
- System Center Configuration Manager now contains new MOC courses. These two new MOC courses will be link to a single new certification test (70-703).
