Cloud Storage and File Sharing Websites

I’m not sure how long I can go without writing about cloud storage. My favorite type of cloud storage is actually a personal cloud. It’s a way of storing data online; but you don’t need to be connected to the Internet to do it.
I recently experimented with an old method of storing files in my Dropbox account; and I have to say that it is just as convenient and easy as the Dropbox web interface.
It’s not only more secure than Dropbox; but it also syncs with your Windows Live ID in the background, so if you lose your computer (or even if it crashes), you won’t lose any data because files still stay synched across both devices.
The downside is that this type of storage is only available for Windows users for now; so if you want to get started using it, you will have to use a Mac or Linux machine; which is my main reason for writing this article in the first place.
At least until I can figure out how to transfer files from my Mac into Dropbox on Windows without having a USB port on my laptop, then I will be happy with all these options!

Why the File Sharing Websites are Better than USB?

If you have a USB port, you can use it for data transmission. If you don’t have a USB port, you can still send files through the Internet and exchange ideas and information. But the online file sharing websites are better.
First of all, they are very convenient to use and they do not need any software to work. Find them on the Internet without being noticed. Second, they give you more ways to share so that your files can be distributed very quickly. And finally, if you want to access some information or if you want to find out how someone else is using the file sharing websites then there is nothing more convenient than downloading one of these files and just checking how it works or how it will be useful for yourself or your friends.

Conclusion

A USB is the most widely used storage medium; and even though it is a popular way of transferring files, it has its limitations. Not only is the USB relatively slow in terms of speed but if you’re not careful with your files, it can be dangerous to your computer.
As a result, many people prefer using file sharing websites such as Dropbox or GoogleDrive because they are more convenient than using a USB. However, it’s important that you understand that uploading and downloading files with these sites is not safe so you should use them at your own risk.
Another option for uploading and accessing large amount of data without using a USB would be to use cloud computing services like GoogleDrive or Dropbox. These services allow you to upload entire databases using a machine; as a server and access them from any PC or any device without worrying about security issues.
